WHEN THE PRESSURE GOES, EVERYTHING GOES WITH IT

A failing shower pump means showers turn to dribbles overnight. A seized stopcock means you can’t isolate the house water when a leak strikes. A leaking isolator valve under a sink can drip undetected for months. These are small components doing critical jobs — when they fail, downstream problems multiply fast.

EcoGas replaces failing pumps and valves with proper-specification parts that match or exceed the original. We don’t fit budget components into systems that need quality, and we don’t oversell either — most valve repairs are quick and cheap, and we’ll tell you when a £30 replacement is all that’s needed.

PUMP AND VALVE FAILURES WE FIX

Common across Perth properties of all ages

WEAK SHOWER FLOW

Shower pump cutting in and out, dribbling output, or not running at all — pump nearing end of life.

WHOLE-HOUSE LOW PRESSURE

Mains pressure has dropped across all taps — could be the PRV (pressure reducing valve) failing.

SEIZED STOPCOCK

Main stopcock won't turn — you can't isolate the water if something fails. Critical to replace.

LEAKING ISOLATOR

Small isolator valve under a sink or behind an appliance dripping continuously.

FAILED PRV

Pressure reducing valve allowing too much pressure into the system — risk of pipe and joint failures.

FAULTY TMV

Thermostatic mixing valve not balancing hot and cold — scalding risk in bathrooms.

ECOGAS'S PUMP & VALVE SERVICE

PUMP REPLACEMENT

Diagnose first — is it the pump, the wiring, or the inlet supply? Replace with a matched-specification pump from major brands. Most pumps replaced in 90 minutes.

VALVE REPLACEMENT

From a £30 isolator under a sink to a full mains pressure reducing valve replacement, we fit the right component for the job.

WHAT PERTH SAYS AFTER A PUMP OR VALVE FIX

Anthony D. — Perth

Shower pump packed in overnight. EcoGas had a replacement Stuart Turner pump fitted by 11am the next morning, full pressure back in the shower. Fair price for the part, fair labour rate, sorted.

Bethany O. — Perth

Main stopcock had seized solid — couldn't have turned the water off in an emergency if I'd tried. EcoGas replaced it with a quarter-turn ball valve. Now I can isolate the house water in two seconds. Peace of mind.

Carlos V. — Perth

Whole house water pressure had dropped over the past year. EcoGas tested the mains PRV, found it failing, replaced it with a new one. Full pressure restored — and they showed me the old part so I could see what had failed.

Diana K. — Perth

Thermostatic shower valve in the en-suite kept randomly going cold. EcoGas replaced the cartridge, tested the temperature stability under various flow conditions. Working perfectly since.

ON-SITE RESPONSE

FIND THE REAL FAULT

FIX IT PROPERLY

PRESSURE PROBLEMS DON'T FIX THEMSELVES

A failing pump gets worse week by week. A leaking valve wastes water every minute. The longer you leave it, the more expensive the eventual fix.

WHY PERTH CHOOSES ECOGAS FOR PUMPS & VALVES

MULTI-BRAND PUMPS

WRAS COMPLIANT

All valves and fittings comply with water regulations — protects you and your insurance.

Every install pressure-tested before sign-off — no surprises after we leave.

PUMP & VALVE FAQS

MY SHOWER PUMP IS NOISY — DO I NEED TO REPLACE IT?
Not always. Pump noise can come from air in the system, a loose mounting, a partially blocked inlet filter, or a failing pump motor. We diagnose the actual cause before quoting — many noisy pumps just need re-bleeding, a new filter or proper mounting, not a full replacement.
Most quality shower pumps (Stuart Turner, Salamander, Grundfos) last 8–15 years depending on water quality and how often they run. Hard water areas wear pumps faster. When a pump approaches end-of-life it usually gets gradually noisier, runs longer, or starts cutting in and out — those are the signs to plan a replacement before it fails completely.
Usually, yes — we can replace most stopcocks while only turning off your own external supply at the boundary stopcock (which we operate using a long-handled key). For older or buried boundary stopcocks where this isn’t possible we may need to arrange a brief shutoff with the water company, but this is rare.
A Pressure Reducing Valve sits on your incoming mains and reduces the pressure to a safe level for your internal plumbing. Mains pressure in parts of Perth can exceed 8 bar — too high for many domestic systems, and a common cause of repeated pipe and joint failures. If you’re getting recurring leaks or your boiler is straining, a PRV is often the answer.
A failing thermostatic mixing valve usually shows up as inconsistent shower or tap temperature — going hot or cold without warning, especially when another tap is run. Modern TMVs are required by law in certain settings (care homes, schools) to prevent scalding. For homes they’re highly recommended, particularly on baths and showers used by children or elderly residents.
Yes — a positive-head pump can dramatically improve flow from a gravity-fed system. For mains-fed systems with low pressure, the solution is usually different (PRV check, or in extreme cases a whole-house pump). We’ll survey your system first and recommend the right approach rather than fitting a pump that won’t solve the problem.
